Increasing engagement on social media can sometimes be a little difficult. Mostly because you take your precious time to produce content and show the world your perspective and it’s a little disappointing when you don’t get the engagement you thought you had foreseen.
It’s not a nice feeling. Trust me– I know how that feels. Let me give you a few tips to make sure that your next post gets a little more organic engagement!
If you are a brand, small business, or personal brand like me– ask your social reach some questions. Find out your followings likes and dislikes. Even bluntly asking your followers “Do you want to see more of these types of posts/videos/etc” It might feel weird to ask that but trust me, people do respond. Instagram story has a voting poll sticker that you can attach to your stories– take advantage of that while it’s there!
Overload and Spamming
Give your audience new content to engage with. I know you might love the photoshoot or video you just shot but don’t fill up your followers feed with all your posts at once. It’s a bit spammy– it doesn’t keep them on the edge of their seat– and most of your followers already saw your content.
I know it’s hard to see your great content on the back burner, but save some for later and always keep your audience guessing!
I know we all hate to not post on social media everyday but sometimes you just have to wait for the passion to kick in. Don’t post content just to post it. Remember that connecting with people should still be fun and it should always be material that ties into your brand and mission. Your followers can tell when your not being yourself so don’t make them second guess their loyalty to you!
